Air Grand Canyon began public service in 1979 and on October 31, 1981, services out of Grand Canyon National Park Airport were inaugurated. The airline started services with a single Cessna 207 and only 2 staff.〔
In its 30-year history, Air Grand Canyon has flown 77,000 flights and carried over 250,000 passengers.〔http://www.airgrandcanyon.com/〕 The carrier now operates a fleet of around 12 aircraft, including Cessna 207s and Cessna 182s making them the second largest fixed-wing air tour operator based around the Grand Canyon.〔
